The Dukes (Introduction)

                                            Introduction

                    Edited by Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

The Dukes come from Umulogho which happens to be one of the fourteen villages in Obowo. This story centres more on this family who are not just from the village of Umulogho but also the number one citizen of Obowo Local Government.  In fact, the Duke family holds the highest rank in the whole of Obowo. They are popularly known as the Royal Family, and the highest decision markers.

The people of Obowo are known for farming, fishing and they are good at producing palm oil, kernel, local baskets, brooms and rice. They also have popular politicians and graduates from other field of study.

According to the story, many of the people of Obowo believe that marrying with diamond brings nothing but bad luck whereas the people of Mbaitoli allow marrying with diamond.

It’s the author’s wish or rather prayer that as you read this story, you will be inspired by Kevin’s determination to succeed, and you will be challenged by Desmond’s bravery in breaking the myth.
